the final project for my Art & Ciology class at JMU: create a piece inspired by/in the style of a historical artist-biologist. i chose John James Audubon because my dad is big into birdwatching. the drawing is 14x19", and the cardinals and white oak leaves/buds are life size. the leaves are based on real leaves I found around campus. instead of watercolors, which Audubon primarily used, i used alcohol markers, colored pencil, white and gold gel pen. the original drawing was gifted to my parents
